Day Five

The Poem:

tangled trees catch from
winter sunset's frozen blaze
unmoving we speed

Notes:
My parents and I drove into Hillsdale last night at twilight. Somehow I'm behind a day from traveling, and a little confused with my own numbering system. (I need a logarithm that tells me what date each number means—it must be a little of the potential confusion the Romans faced when deciphering consular dates.)

Also, while I was home my sister Naomi and I started a haiku to commemorate a shared event that included the phrase "fish fireworks" and "disintegrating snack." I couldn't quite figure out how to finish it, though, so it remains in the potential-haiku category. A very promising potential-haiku.
